Even little wars are dangerous in this nuclear world... The Korean conflict alone, forgetting for a moment the thousands of Americans who lost their lives, cost four times as much as our total world-wide aid budget for the current year...

Lindsey, Robert: The Falcon and the Snowman

Two Boner image: This is a work that breaks new ground, and quite possibly forced changes in the way the government either does business, or hides it.

Lindsey, Robert (1979) The Falcon and the Snowman. New York: Simon and Schuster, 359 pp.

Falcon and Snowman

Based on a true story, the Falcon and the Snowman tells the story of Christopher Boyce, an idealistic young man who gets a job at a top secret TRW facility near Los Angeles and becomes disillusioned with what he learns. Boyce’s job involved downloading data from the supersecret Pine Gap satellite tracking station in Australia. He soon learns that America’s spy satellites are spying not only on enemies, but also allies. Indeed, he finds the CIA involved in removing the elected Gough Whitlam government in Australia because of their failure to support the US war in Vietnam and military actions elsewhere in Asia.
